Welcome to the music of Jim McCrain.

Songs with meaning, subtle intellect, and soaring melodies:  This is an evening of music with Jim McCrain.  Following in the rich tradition of the story-teller, Jim weaves a musical tale of places far away, times long-gone, and better days.  Whether a tender ballad of hope and remembrance, a light-hearted waltz about simpler times, or a tongue-in-cheek reflection on everyday life, Jim is sure to play a song or twothat will delight every listener.

Jim performs music from a vast collection of legendary singer-songwriters and acoustic groups, such as The Eagles, Crosby Stills and Nash, The Beatles, Bob Seger, John Denver, and Gordon Lightfoot. Several legendary Texas songwriters, like John Prine, Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark, and Robert Earl Keene may also beheard. And then there are songs by some incredible, yet not-so-well-known indie artists, like Richard Shindell, Steve Fisher, and Shawn Mullins.  Some of the songs will be familiar. Some will not. Each song has a beautiful melody to get lost in, but also has a unique message or commentary on life.  Never condescending, but always with a new perspective or fresh way of thinking, an evening spent listening to Jim McCrain is a great way to end your day.

So relax!  Sing along! Enjoy the simple pleasure of listening to a story set to song.  Let your mind drift back to the days when you didn't have a care in the world.  Listen carefully to the lyrics!  They will transport you to times and places that you had forgotten, or had never dreamed existed.  It's all about the story!
