In February 2004, Jim and Kathy McCrain began a five month oddessy in New Zealand. Kathy was transferred to Auckland for a temporary work assignment, and Jim followed her for moral support. (Isn't he just the greatest husband?) What follows is Jim's account of this adventure. One Last Look at Auckland! July 16, 2004 Today marks our last day in the "City of Sails", Auckland, New Zealand. It has been a wonderful time living in this exotic country. Kathy and I will never be the same as we were when we first arrived, so many months ago. I am a little sad to be leaving this place, as I have made many new friends and have seen so many wondrous places. Still, it will be good to go back home and get back to our "normal" lives. Before that can happen though, we will spend two weeks touring the South Island, so there are still a lot more stories and photos to come! I wanted to leave you now with a few scenes of Auckland, as it has appeared out our bedroom window for the past few months. You can judge for yourself whether this place is as magical and as fun as we have tried to describe it.
Good-Bye, Auckland! Thank you for a wonderful time! And now it's off to the South Island for two weeks! |
