McCrain's in Middle Earth
A travel dialogue of our adventures in New Zealand

In February 2004, Jim and Kathy McCrain began a five month oddessy in New Zealand. Kathy was transferred to Auckland for a temporary work assignment, and Jim followed her for moral support. (Isn't he just the greatest husband?) What follows is Jim's account of this adventure.

Guess who I met today?
(Wait a minute! Doesn't that sound familiar?)

That's Right! He's Michael Hurst!
Of course, He is better known as
"Iolaus"
from the television series
"The legendary Journeys of Hercules"

For those of you who are wondering, I didn't just "meet" Michael at some publicity stunt. Instead, I arranged to do an interview with him for a special project I am working on. We spent about 45 minutes together one evening.

Michael is such a nice guy that it was difficult to interview him. We continually got "off topic" as we visited like old friends.

Michael was directing and performing in Shakespeare's "MacBeth." Kathy and I saw this production a few nights before I met with Michael. It was an amazing program, and was a very good adaptation of Shakespeare's work. We both enjoyed it immensely. Michael is truly a diverse actor and is a very good director.
